I found my Love at CNA- Amanda and Huma

My name is Amanda Rideout, and I met my BFF at CNA’s Bay St. George campus in Stephenville.

I started working on my Business Administration (Human Resources Management) Diploma in 2018. I was so nervous. I was still relatively new to the area, and I didn’t really know anyone. However, the longer I was here, the more comfortable I became. I met lots of great people there and still keep in touch with a lot of them. But one person in particular has been with me through it all, Huma Khawer.

She began her studies a few semesters ahead of me, so we didn’t start our journey together. We got to know each other throughout our time there and became very close. Not only did we become study buddies; we became lunch buddies and from there, a full on friendship formed.

We were able to graduate together, and since then, we have become even closer. COVID-19 prevents us from meeting up for lunches, but we are always in communication. We are also working towards our bachelor’s degrees together and hoping to graduate at the same time again. Our friendship goes well beyond education. We share our feelings, stories, experiences, and so much more. She is a huge part of my life now and I thank CNA every day for introducing me to her. Moral of the story: studying is much better when you have a friend with you!
