I found my ❤️ at CNA

Rebecca & Emily

I met Emily at CNA in 2023, we attended college together and we’ve been together for 3 years since! Thank you, CNA, for my forever partner. ❤️

Claudette, Diane & Peggy

I went to CNA in 1998 doing the Computer Support Specialist course and I met two of my lifelong friends! We still get together a few times a year for coffee and to catch up! Getting together for special occasions in each other’s lives.  For example, weddings, new homes, etc.

Samantha & Nicole

Nicole and I became instant friends the moment we became partners during the photo scavenger hunt at the Grand Falls-Windsor campus Orientation. The first photo is when we had to get the classic “Charlie’s Angels” pose outside of the school for one of the photos in the scavenger hunt. After that day, we were stuck to each other like glue—from study sessions in the library, to eating lunch together in the cafeteria each day, to joining student council together (second photo with the giant Lego man), to graduating at the top of our class together. We graduated from the MLA program in June 2024, and even now, she remains my absolute best friend, and I have CNA to thank for that!

Gina & Clayton

Stephenville, September 29, 1987. I’m out on a school night (for shame!) with two of my new college friends at a local bar with a not-so-savoury reputation. We were NOT dressed for a night out and had not brought our IDs, which, of course, the bartender asked for. No problem – we lived right across the street, so we went and got them and came back for ‘one beer’.

Before long a group of guys showed up, and one of the friends recognized an old schoolmate, so we all joined them at the bar. After a little while, another of their friends came in, and since no one introduced us, I stuck out my hand and said, “I’m Gina,” and, pointing to my friend behind me, “and that’s Shannon, but you don’t want to meet her.”

He laughs and says, “I’m Clayton, and maybe I want to meet her more than I want to meet you!”

A couple of beers, a couple of dances and three years later, to the day, we were married, and we’ve been together ever since!

Jennifer & Aiden

Aiden Martin and I (Jennifer Kennedy) met in the CPET program at CNA on Ridge Road over 10 years ago. We immediately had a connection. We loved being lab partners and working on assignments together. We share a lot in common and had different problem-solving skills, so it worked quite well!! Fast forward to moving across the country together and vacationing as many places as we can – we got engaged in November 2025 in Palm Springs, California up in the high snowy mountain tops. 🥰❤️

Wendy & Lindsey

In 2005 when enrolling into Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Ridge Road Campus We Met on the First Day of Classes, it was an instant friendship that was built.  Throughout the last 20 years we have been by each other sides through the ups and downs, Starting with Late night study jam sessions to our First jobs then our weddings to the birth of our kids, We Still remain each other best friends today.  Will be forever grateful for CNA bringing us together!

Madison & Lyntesha

I’m Madison Garcin (left) and this is Lyntesha Parrill (right). We met in September 2023 when we started the Executive Office Management diploma program at CNA at the Corner Brook Campus. Even though we grew up in different provinces and are a year apart in age, we clicked right away and have been close friends ever since.

Along with our classmates Kristina Bell, Jessica Blanchard, and Victoria Taylor, we formed a tight-knit friend group and made some of our best memories throughout the two-year program.

In April 2024, Lyntesha and I were proud to celebrate receiving scholarships and bursaries together. CNA gave us more than an education — it brought us once-in-a-lifetime friendships that we have kept long after graduation and cherish always.

Lisa & Corey

1997 myself and my now husband fell in love at CNA, we both were in the commercial cooking class. He says he knew when he first seen me walk into the class, I was the one he was going to spend his life with… took me a little longer to realize my feelings for him because another person in the class really liked him but he asked me out to play pool and we have been together ever since.

Marilyn & Nicole

My bestie Nicole Chaulk.  We met at the Goose Bay campus in the year 2000 and have been besties ever since.  Pictured here, we are at the beginning of our road trip to Quebec City last summer.  It only took us 25 years to finally take that road trip we always talked about in college.

Melanie & Mike

Met my boyfriend Mike, in September of 2024. I was just after starting my work term down in Burin for my ECE level 1 course with CNA. When I got off on my lunch breaks, he would come meet me and we would hang out for an hour every day. He lived in Marystown so it was easier for him to come to me there, as I’m from St. Lawrence. He wasn’t in school but met him through another platform.

Anyways, a year and a little bit later, we are still together and now living together 🙂 He is also now going to school for his ECE level definitely meant to be!! Thanks, CNA, for bringing us closer together without even realizing it!

Susan & Jake

I met Jake at CNA Grand Falls Windsor campus in 2015. I was doing the CAS transfer year, and he was finishing last year of business management. We got married in 2019 and now have 3 beautiful babies together!! Thank you, CNA, for bringing us together! ❤️

Kayla & her ❤️

Our story begins in June of 2024, I had no idea what I wanted to go to school for, so I took a suggestion from one of my friends to do the welding engineer technician course at the burin campus. In September of that same year, I met this kid from Quebec and immediately knew I wanted to be his friend. In December he and I went for a drive and he told me that he had a crush on me and I told him that I felt the same way about him. We have now been together for over a year and have our own place together and are planning on moving back to his hometown in Quebec in July. Ever since we got together, we’ve been airplaning through life together.

Mike & Melissa

I met my wife in 2001 while we were both completing the architectural engineering technology program at the Ridge Road campus!

We have two kids and have been married for 20 years.

Stephanie & her ❤️

I didn’t meet my love at CNA, but if it wasn’t for CNA, I wouldn’t have met him.

I graduated from the mechanical program at CNA Ridge Road in June of 2021.

I went back to school as a mature student after a long career in travel and tourism. After graduation (in the middle of covid) I moved to NB. In 2022 I got a job at Strescon, as their project manager for the Pipe Plant.

There I met many friendly faces, but one man always stood out. He was funny, he was entertaining, and he was easy to talk to, he was an operator of one of the pieces of equipment in the plant.

4 years later, we just bought our first house and we still work in the same place. ❤️

If it wasn’t for my career change, and attending the tech program at CNA, I would never have been led down this path and met my love.

Claire & Curtis

Curtis and I both started college in Happy Valley Goose Bay Labrador in September 2024. He was enrolled in the power line tech program, and I was enrolled in mental health and addictions. We met at Speed-Friending in the residence where we both lived, and I worked as resident assistant and we have been inseparable since! We both received a scholarship while in HVGB – Curtis achieved his diploma and I continued my education at university.

We now both have an apartment together in New Brunswick and are continuing to build our lives alongside each other!

We are both super excited to see what the future holds for us!

Lindsey & Her Bestie

Not a romantic story but I found my best friend at CNA back in 2015! We both did the automotive service technician course. We were the only two girls in the whole class. Almost 11 years later and she’s still my best friend. I don’t know what I would do without her in my life. Neither of us went on to careers in automotive tech, but I found a forever friend at CNA and for that I will always be grateful!

Courtney & Her Bestie

When I first stepped onto campus, I was looking for a degree, but I ended up finding my person.

College is a whirlwind of stress and self-discovery, but she has been the steady heartbeat through it all. Whether we’re crammed into the front seats of her car for hours—turning a small parking spot into our private library—or navigating the highs and lows of life, she is the constant I didn’t know I needed.

Why She’s the One

The Ultimate Confidante: She knows my secrets, my fears, and I never have to filter myself.

The Car Study Sessions: There’s something sacred about those hours in her car. Between the flashcards and the red bulls, those cramped seats saw us grow into the students (and people) we are today.

My Unwavering Support: When the weight of a semester feels like too much, or when life gets messy outside the classroom, she’s the first one to pull me back up. She isn’t just my best friend; she’s my proof that the best parts of college don’t always happen in a classroom. They happen in the quiet moments of support, the shared laughs over midterm meltdowns, and the knowledge that no matter what happens, I’ll always have the truest friend!

Madison & Madison

When I began my journey at CNA, I was very nervous on the first day. As I settled into my first class, I quickly discovered that another student shared not only the experience—but also my name! Madison. Coincidentally, we also both lived in residence, which made it easy to connect. What started as carpooling to school soon turned into studying together, supporting one another through the program, and sharing plenty of shopping trips along the way. As time passed, our friendship continued to grow stronger. Even after graduation, we’ve made a point to stay close despite the distance—especially because one of us lives in Labrador. To celebrate our bond, we even got matching tattoos as a lasting reminder of how meaningful our friendship is. CNA didn’t just shape our education; it gave me a lifelong best friend.

Karen & Natasha

How I met my Best Friend Natasha

My friendship with Natasha feels like one of those rare, once in a lifetime alignments. The kind of instant connection people spend years hoping to stumble into. I did not just meet a classmate. I met my person. We met at such a turning point in our lives, not at the beginning of childhood, but at the beginning of becoming who we were meant to be.

We met while attending the Orientation to Trades and Technology program at College of the North Atlantic, a program designed to help women explore the trades and feel inspired to choose a path. When we started, neither of us had any idea what we wanted to do with our lives. We were just two women standing at the edge of the unknown. But somehow, in the middle of all that uncertainty, we found each other.

From the very beginning, we instantly clicked. It felt effortless, natural, like I had known her forever even though we had just met. I knew right away I had met my best friend. I had never had a best friend before Natasha and meeting her changed something in me.

One of my favorite memories is graduation day. We had our certificates in our hands, and we both looked at each other and blurted out our dreams at the same time. Two women who began unsure, now standing solid, choosing welding and hairstyling like battle flags planted in the ground. Not just “we finished,” but “we found ourselves.” That is growth we witnessed in each other, side by side. It was such a powerful moment because we started that program unsure of everything, and we left knowing exactly who we were becoming. We did not just finish a course; we found our paths together.

Some of my happiest memories are the simple ones, like lunch time. We loved going to the cafeteria, ordering our food, sitting there laughing and talking. In those moments, we felt like we truly belonged.

Like we were part of something bigger, in an environment that made us feel supported and capable.

That atmosphere where you were not just students, but women stepping into spaces that once did not always make room for you. Those lunches were not just meals; they were tiny daily celebrations of “we’re really doing this.”

Natasha came into my life when I was still figuring out who I was and what I wanted. She loved me in a way that rebuilt pieces of me I thought were broken. She is the kind of friend who shows up when the room is empty. When things are hard, she is there. That kind of love and loyalty is rare. What makes our bond especially beautiful is the timing. People talk so much about childhood best friends, but the friends you meet while rebuilding yourself hits differently. She is the best friend I find on my own while I was trying to figure out my life. I did not grow up with Natasha, but from the moment she entered my life, it felt like she had always been there. No long history, no childhood memories, just an instant, effortless bond.

After graduation, we both continued our journeys. She is now in the hairstyling program at Keyin College, and I finished my Welding program at Academy Canada in October 2025. I truly would not have made it through without her cheering me on the whole way. Now I get to be her cheerleader while she finishes school, just like she was for me.

Life without her is unimaginable. Some friendships are not about how long you have known each other, but about how deeply you feel seen, understood, and loved unconditionally. Natasha is that friend for me and meeting her at College of the North Atlantic will always be one of the best chapters of my life. I want to Thank CNA for giving me not only a best friend but also a purpose in life. Even if I don’t win the gift card that’s okay because I got to sit here and tell you all about our story and how CNA was a part of it.

Ashey & Alison

We both graduated from the CNA Prince Philp Drive Campus in 2018. We were both the “quiet ones” in class and instantly clicked. This picture was taken back in December 2017, at our classes Christmas party. 9 years later, this year I am going to be a bridesmaid at her wedding!

Angie & Maurice

A small-town girl meets a small town boy in Stephenville at CNA. No clue where life would take them or the journey they would face but they knew together was the only way to continue.

Still loving the life, they started all those years ago and raising their biggest accomplishment of life, their SUPERHERO son Mattais.

Tonya & Chantal

Community Studies, class of 2004. We weren’t friends. Barely even acquaintances. We never did a project together. Never sat together in the cafeteria. Classmates…. competitive ones. We liked to outdo each other. Both were vying for top marks in the classes we took together.

A few years after graduation we all reconnected on Facebook. Congratulations on new jobs, relationships, children, etc.

A few more years pass, and we are planning a reunion. Chantal offers her spare room so I can attend. That weekend was really the first time we had a conversation that didn’t involve gloating over an extra percentage point on the latest assignment.

Fast forward to 2022 and I was planning to be in Stephenville for a few hours. My daughter wanted to be dropped off at a friends for a sleepover. Debated if I should message an old classmate and go out for supper before heading back to Deer Lake. Who to message? I had just spent the whole summer volunteering at a camp for 8–18-year-olds. Most of my conversations were with teenagers. I was burnt out and in need of light conversation. The weekend I had spent at Chantal’s 7 years before was easy, the conversation came naturally. I decided to message. A supper invite turned into an invitation to stay the night (this single mom was appreciative to save gas money on another deer lake to Stephenville round trip the next day).

Being “Helpers” gave us plenty to talk about. A Student Assistant at a Primary School and a Counsellor at a Halfway House have more in common than you would think!

I visited every second weekend for almost two years, and we moved in together July 2024.

Sometimes we still look at each other and laugh “I love Tonya King” and “I love Chantal Drake” Imagine!!! How far we have come from gloating in Marg Lockyer’s Behaviour Management class over 2 percentage points!

Lyndsay & Katherine

I met my best friend Katherine when we both went to CNA in 2019. We were both enrolled in the Business Administration – Accounting program. In 2020, I wanted to pursue Human Resources instead and Katherine also had her mind made up to do it as well. We did so many group projects together! Thats when we got close!

Now we are going on 7 years of friendship! I don’t know what I would do without her!

Pamela & Robert

I attended Cabot College from 1993 to 1995 to complete the two-year Office Administration Executive Course and my husband Robert was working at Cabot at the same time that I began classes in the Student Services Department.  He was the Student Council Liaison for the Department and the Student Body.

He also attended Cabot from 1988 to 1991 and completed the three year Business Management Marketing Course.  And then after he graduated, he was hired by the school and then two years later, in the first few weeks I was at Cabot our paths crossed.

I had run for the Class President position for my Office Administration first year class and I met my husband Rob when I went upstairs to the School Council Office to find out about ordering class jackets after our first meeting for all the class representatives.

We met that day for the first time and began chatting about school and courses and we became friends right away

We got closer as friends, and we started dating a few months later and we’ve been together ever since; it was love at first sight.  We’ve been together now for 32 years since we met at Cabot.  And married for 27 years.

The school holds such a special place in our hearts. Every time we drive by, we say ‘that’s where we started out as a couple.’

We recently went to the CNA Day this past November 2025 as it had been 30 years since we were both there at Cabot and it was so nice and nostalgic to walk through the doors.  We got to see our old classrooms, lockers, cafeteria and gym. It brought back so many happy memories.

Rachel & Celso

I met my boyfriend, Celso, at the College of the North Atlantic’s Ridge Road Campus. We were both enrolled in the Chemical Process Engineering Technology program in 2021. During a physics lab, we were pretty much forced to work together when the computers weren’t working—and that unexpected moment is where our journey began. I asked for his Instagram shortly after, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’ve shared so many meaningful memories both inside and outside of CNA, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the program that brought us together.

Samantha & Her Bestie

Way back in 2007, I was an online student with a small child at home, creating a ton of distraction! I needed a quiet place to study so I headed to the library at CNA PAB. There I met a super friendly but extremely chatty (much like myself) library tech. We became fast friends and spent hours getting to know one another. A few months after my “study sessions” started, she passed me a job ad and introduced me to the Campus Administrator. I applied and got the job! Our chats may not have been conducive to my studies, but I don’t regret it one bit. I found my best friend! We are now both located in the main office at the PAB campus and after 18 years, we haven’t run out of things to talk about!

Abigail & Her Bestie

I met my best friend at CNA in September of 2022.

Actually, I met my best friend in September 2019, during high school. But we wouldn’t even consider being friends with each other then. We both hung out with different people, and quite honestly, we didn’t get along very much. So, when we saw each other for the first time in college, I think we both thought, “there’s no way this is going to be the only person I know”. I would never have imagined us being friendly with each other, let alone friends. Then I found out we were in the same program. Almost all the same classes every day for an entire year.

A week in, she walks into class, and on a whim, I asked her to sit with me. I can’t quite explain why I reached out – maybe it was fate, or the hope that maybe we could be friends despite our past differences – but to my surprise she said yes. After class, I nervously invited her to get something to eat together. As we sat in the car together, I realized just how much we had in common. I had no idea that my spontaneous invitation would change my life. Before then I didn’t understand what friendship was truly about. Since that day my life has been filled with so much laughter, trust, and a friendship so special I can only describe it as destiny.  Long story short, I found my platonic soulmate on the Grand Falls Windsor CNA campus. Our connection may not be romantic, but it is a love story all the same. One that is written in inside jokes, take-out food, and endless talks about everything and nothing. I know that for the rest of my life I will have someone who will always pick up the phone, always knows what to say (even if sometimes it’s not what I want to hear), and someone who I know I can always count on. No matter where life takes us, I know that in 60 years when we’re old and grey, we will still be laughing about that first week of college. And if I had my time back I would do it the same way every time.

Olivia & Her ❤️

My name is Olivia Patey and I met my sweetheart at CNA

back a long time ago in 1996 we were doing civil engineering technology at CNA in corner brook. He was in the year ahead of me. From there we have been married for 25 years with 3 amazing children.

Paige & Toni

My name is Paige Cochrane (right) , my best friend Toni Holwell (left) and I found each other during our cook course 2013-2014 in HVGB campus. This photo pretty much sums up our study session breaks. Smiles, laughter and good memories.

Sara & Shane

My name is Sara Clarke, and I met Shane Barron at the CNA Campus in Carbonear during the Fall of 2019.  I was a returning student, where he was starting his first year at the campus.

I can remember sitting in the classroom where my friends and I were waiting for orientation to start.  As I was waiting, I looked towards the door and this guy walked in (this was Shane), and he caught my eye right away.  I couldn’t help looking at him as I thought he was really cute.

After the orientation was over, I walked towards the cafeteria where I bumped into some friends I met the previous year, who were also returning students.  We discussed our course schedules and Shane walks into the cafeteria. He sat next to my friends and I found out he was also friends with them as well (they all went to the same high school together), and I remember thinking this could be my chance to talk to him!

Sure enough, me and Shane started talking and we hit it off! It felt like I knew him forever, and I still do!  We would hang out together between classes, he would even buy me lunch!  He asked me out on Halloween that same year and we’re still together, 6 years later!

The first picture is us when we first stated dating, and the second picture is us years later.  We regularly still have chats where we’re very happy we met in CNA.

Shania & Kayla – WINNER!

I met my best friend Kayla attending a CNA program from 2014-2016 in Early childhood education. I was just 17 and she was 9 years older than me. During the next week or so we got close and became study buddies. From interrupting class at times to loud laughs, late night movies with snacks. There was even one time we were surprised that Kayla won a trip at career day but it turns out she won a bag of goodies instead.

Now 12 years later we work at the same daycare just across the hall from each other our friendship is stronger than ever. She always told me that when she had a child, I would be godmother. Today I’m a proud godmother to 3-year-old Hazel.

Dawn & Her ❤️

My name is Dawn Greening and I am instructor in the Architectural Engineering Technology program where I first met my husband when we were both students in the Architectural program back in 2000. We became good friends, but that friendship quickly became more, and we married in 2003. We have been blessed with an amazing life, a wonderful family (honored to have raised two beautiful humans), and a deep and enduring love that continues to get us through all of life’s ups and downs. I knew I had to share our cute little love story that started in the very same room that I teach in every day.

Zoe & Stacie – WINNER!

Stacie and I first met at CNA Clarenville campus while completing our Business Administration diplomas (2016–2018) and we’ve been best friends ever since. If it wasn’t for us walking into that classroom, we likely would have never crossed paths otherwise! Looking back on the last ten years, it’s incredible to see all the memories we’ve made together. I honestly don’t know how I would’ve made it through school without her. We were partners in crime – the only two in our Human Resources class, volunteering around campus, competing in case competitions, and even traveling to Halifax with our Enactus team!

Thank you, Stacie, for being a constant in my life since 2016. Forever grateful. Love you! ❤️

Janet & Ron

I met my hubby at CNA in Placentia in September of 1996. I was completing my Office Administration Certification and he was completing his Welding Certification. We started chatting over MSN Messenger 🫣 and went on our first date January 16, 2007, on campus!!  We told our parents we were going to do some “computer work” hahaha!  The rest is history lol. 29 years later and here we are!

Thanks CNA🩵!
