This contest is open only to graduates of College of the North Atlantic (“CNA”) Newfoundland and Labrador (including online learning and its predecessor institutions: Cabot College, Eastern College, Central Newfoundland Community College, Westviking College, Labrador College, Fisher Technical College, Western Community College, District Vocational Schools, etc). To participate in the Contest, you must be a natural person (i.e., not a corporate entity); have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry into the Contest; and have complied with the Contest rules as provided herein (the “Rules”). All staff from the Alumni and Advancement, as well as the Marketing and Communications departments of CNA are excluded, as is anyone living in the same household.

2. Entry
Contest entries will only be accepted through comments (using words or photos) on CNA’s Alumni Facebook page “College of the North Atlantic Alumni” This Contest runs from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7 until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Comments will be accepted on the daily posts for the duration of the contest period only. No purchase necessary to enter or win. To be considered an Entry to the daily contest, alumni must comment each day on the “Self-Care is in the Air” posts made on CNA’s Alumni Facebook page. To win the daily prize, eligible comments on the Facebook posts will be entered.  In addition, any comments throughout the duration of the contest will be used for successful submissions into the Grand Prize draw to be held on Tuesday, February 14. Entrants are responsible for the cost of their connection to the Contest website via the Internet. CNA does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or secure access to the Facebook page.

By entering the Contest, each Entrant agrees to be bound by the Rules. An Entrant may not submit more than one comment per day. If it is discovered that an Entrant has commented more than once, the Entrant will be disqualified from participating in the Contest. Any attempt by an Entrant to submit more than one comment by using multiple Facebook Accounts, or any other means, will void all comments for such Entrant. Comments that are late, lost, incomprehensible, disrespectful, misdirected or that do not otherwise conform to the Rules may be disqualified by CNA. The Released Parties (defined below) are not responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, invalid or illegible comments (all of which are void). Proof of comment submission does not constitute proof of receipt by CNA.

3. Grand Prize
There are a total of seven prizes (the “Prizes”) to be awarded. The Prizes consist of pre-paid Visa gift cards – six valued at $50 and one grand prize of $200. The Prizes are available to be won by seven individual Prize winners (the “Prize Winners”). Once the Entry has been validated, the Prizes will be distributed within 30 calendar days after the Prize Winners have been successfully notified of their Prizes and fulfilled the requirements set out herein. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferrable, substitutable, refundable, assignable, or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by CNA in its sole and absolute discretion). CNA reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute any Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, a cash award. None of the Released Parties makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any of the Prizes awarded in connection with the Contest. Any other costs or expenses, including taxes on any of the Prizes, incurred by a Prize Winner in claiming or using their Prize, not expressly stated herein as being included in the Prize, will be the responsibility of the Prize Winners.

Winners must adhere to the terms and conditions for Visa Gift Cards as outlined at

4. Prize Terms and Conditions
The cut off for entry for the draw each day is 11:59 p.m. Each Prize will be awarded by a random computer-generated draw conducted by CNA in St. John’s, NL. The seven draws will take place daily from February 8 to February 15 at 1 p.m. Each daily winner will be announced the next day on the post pertaining to the contest on the College of the North Atlantic Alumni Facebook page no later than 4 p.m. The winners will be announced February 8 to February 15, inclusive. There is a limit of one (1) Prize per participant and per household. The Winner(s) from the previous day(s) will not be eligible for subsequent daily draws; however, their names will be included in the final Grand Prize draw.

The selected Entrants will be notified by CNA or its agents by Facebook comment and Facebook direct message from the College of the North Atlantic Alumni page no later than 24 HOURS AFTER DRAW TIME and the Winner(s) must respond within seven calendar days of notification. If the selected Entrants cannot be contacted via the Facebook account used to make the Entry comment, within a reasonable time (as determined by CNA), they will be deemed to have refused to agree to accept the Prize as established by these Rules. If the selected Entrants fail to comply with any of the requirements herein, or otherwise fails to comply with the Rules, they will be disqualified and will not receive a Prize and another Entrant may be selected in CNA’s sole discretion.

CNA is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected Entrant to receive notification or of CNA to receive a selected entrant’s response. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries received. The selected Entrants must agree to accept the Prizes as established by these Rules, or further random draws will be held until a Winner is determined.

By accepting a prize, the Winner grants CNA permission to announce their name as the Winner and to use their name and/or photographs and videos for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
